Tropical Storm Pedring: 8 provinces under Public Storm Warning Signal #3

Typhoon "Pedring" has further intensified as it endangers Isabela-Aurora area, says PAGASA on its latest weather bulletin issued at 11PM Monday, September 26, 2011.

"Pedring" is now located 170 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora and has a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 170 kph.

It's now being forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph and make landfall over Aurora-Isabela area.

Typhoon "Pedring" is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday evening.

Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) has now been lowered for areas such as Catanduanes, CamSur, CamNorte, Albay, Sorsogon, Quezon and Polillo Island but PSWS has been raised for Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Kalinga, Cagayan, Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Abra and Apayao.

Metro Manila is still placed under Public Storm Warning Signal #2.

In Metro Manila (NCR), classes in kinder, elementary and high school, were already suspended Monday afternoon and will continue until Tuesday, September 27.

Classes in kinder, elementary and high school for September 27 are also suspended in Quezon, Rizal (Antipolo, San Mateo, Rodriguez, Jala Jala), Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan, Cavite (Rosario, Gen. Trias, Tanza, Bacoor) and Laguna (Sta. Rosa), as announced DEPED on its Twitter page (@DepEd_PH).
